Censorship and shadowbanning is nothing new to those of us trying to share truth and information Big Tech would rather not allow the general public to see. We’ve used 16 different ways to say \/@XXeeN and still, any social media post that shares actual CDC data and guidelines will be flagged. But what about conversations and information we want to share directly with our consenting followers? These folks have joined our community seeking the data and knowledgeable opinions from our team of scientific experts.
Well Big Tech has now decided that consenting communities are not intelligent enough to make their own decisions about information they subscribe to. Dr. Chris Martenson, pathologist and founder of Peak Prosperity, recently had 12 years of videos cancelled from his private Vimeo community. A representative from Vimeo’s Trust & Safety team claims Dr. Martenson’s account was “…terminated for repeated violations of Vimeo's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.”
They contend that the strikes include:
Election Fraud - Voting Misinformation
Health misinformation and vaccine misinformation
In a response from Vimeo, they explain how they define “Health Misinformation and Vaccine misinformation:”
Vimeo does not allow health-related content that might cause people to take dangerous or unproven treatments or refrain from taking indicated precautions or treatments that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO) recommend. We also do not allow claims that an epidemic or pandemic (such as COVID-19) are conspiracies.
If you know Dr. Martenson’s work, you know he is one of the foremost experts on the topics he discusses with his community and his response back to Vimeo’s Trust & Safety team was clear:
“Thanks for the reply, but you've completely failed to provide any evidence or data to back up your assertions. Therefore, you are engaging in editorial management of the content on Vimeo. This moves your actions into the realm of opinion, which places Vimeo now outside of section 230 shields. I can back up and verify - with science and data - every single one of my videos and all subcomponents therein. They would all stand in a court of law, and most certainly in the court of public opinion.”
