The Bivalent Booster Disaster
When profits are first priority: humiliation of the CDC, FDA, Pfizer, Moderna, and the Biden administration
Over the past four months, the White House, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have vigorously pushed the new bivalent vaccine on all eligible Americans. In his final White House briefing, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated, “Please, for your own safety, for that of your family, get your updated COVID-19 shot as soon as you’re eligible to protect yourself, your family, and your community.”
Yet, only 12 percent of Americans 5 and older have received the updated booster. Meanwhile, just over 30 percent of senior citizens — the most have gotten the bivalent dose. In attempts to increase vaccine uptake, the Biden administration has announced a six-week campaign budgeting more than $475 million to expand mRNA vaccine outreach. $350 million will go into community health centers to promote booster awareness while another $125 million will be devoted “to national organizations that serve people with disabilities and older adults to support community vaccination programs and efforts.”

Will you mask up again? A January mandate looms for L.A. if COVID-19 wave worsens
With coronavirus cases surging and hospitalizations worsening, Los Angeles County is again facing the possibility of a renewed public indoor mask mandate.
The return of such rules, which haven’t been on the books since March, is not a given. But with the startling formation of a third straight fall-and-winter wave, officials have said a new order could be implemented shortly after the new year should hospitalizations worsen.
“We are seeing a rapid acceleration again,” L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said. “This is the time to put that mask back on.”
Any new indoor mask mandate hinges on two metrics related to the pressure COVID-19 is exerting on hospitals in the nation’s most populous county.

Philly schools will require masking for 2 weeks following winter break
Philly students and staff will be required to wear face masks inside school buildings for two weeks after they return from winter break, Superintendent Tony Watlington said at a press conference Wednesday.
Watlington described the decision as a “proactive measure” to prevent the coronavirus from spreading since “many of us will be involved in quite a few social gatherings over the next few weeks,” he said.
Winter break starts on Dec. 26 and runs through the following Monday for staff and Tuesday for students. Classes are expected to resume fully in person, Watlington said.
In addition to masking, the district is providing families with free at-home tests, which can be picked up at five school-based locations starting this week.
Philly public schools started classes in August with two weeks of mandatory masking.
At the time, the district’s chief medical officer Kendra McDow said that masks could be required over the course of the school year under specific circumstances, including classroom and school-wide outbreaks or following school breaks.

Poll: More Than 7 in 10 Americans Favor Fauci Probe Into COVID-19 Origin
A Rasmussen Reports poll from Wednesday reveals that more than two-thirds of the country would favor "a full-throated" investigation into the origin of the COVID-19 virus, along with the role Dr. Anthony Fauci — the White House's leading epidemiologist — might have played in the release of the coronavirus.
According to the survey, 72% said they agreed with Congress conducting a detailed investigation into the virus's starting point. They also believe Fauci should be called in to testify.
More than half of the respondents supporting the above statement (51%) said they "strongly agreed" with Fauci being part of the COVID-19 investigation.
